Some photos of my interactive, bilingual, nutrition display board
Here is a close up of the nutrition display board. The top of the board shows what portion sizes look like for vegetables, fruits and leafy greens in a sandwich bag so parents have an easy visual. There is a handout the parents can take home in both English and Spanish that talks about the importance of fruits and vegetables in the diet. Two farmers market baskets are filled with various fruits and vegetables allowing kids to fill up their felt plate! Behind the "Who should eat fruits and vegetables every day?" mystery sign is a mirror letting kids know it's important for all of us (even our siblings and parents)!

A More Excellent Way (MEW)
Here I am as a MEW intern alongside my WIC coworkers after a very successful African American Baby Shower. Some of my duties working for MEW included gathering vendors for this community event in Pittsburg. There were over 10 vendors that day some of which included: White Pony Express, Black Infant Health, Contra Costa Health (for anyone who was looking for a flu shot before the newborn arrived), WIC and so many more. During the event, I was in charge of the childcare rooms, making sure children of all ages had appropriate activities such as creating books to read to their new baby sibling, shopping for the family from the White Pony Express tent, and of course, snack time.

Another major responsibility of mine during this choice rotation, was to create the 2016 African American Breastfeeding Calendar. This project had it's challenges, but the final product was well worth it! So many moms look forward to receiving one of these free calendars as motivation to continue breastfeeding!
Enlightening Choices
Here I am giving a talk to the elderly participants of L'Chaim , a Russian, Jewish Community in San Francisco. They were all so interested in this topic I was surprised in the participation rate! Me entire talk was translated into Russian by a staff member, Rosa, at L'Chaim- Thank you Rosa!
