A Special Thank you Note
I would like to take a minute to thank everyone who has helped make my dream a reality...
Mom, Dad and Aj- How lucky am I to have two wonderful parents and a loving brother who support me through anything and everything? Mom, you have done more than I could have ever asked for, for me and my success. You have been the biggest driving force through school, willing to do whatever it takes for me to accomplish my goals. Dad, without you I would never have met Nancy, and would not be as experienced and inspired as I am. You always listened to the nutrition advice I learned in school which made me feel like I could lead anyone to a healthy future. Aj, for as long as I can remember you have always cheered for me along my journey to health and success and now, with you on the same road of leading others toward a healthy life, I am more motivated than ever! Thank you for being my personal trainer and forcing me to pull away from my studies to get a my sweat on! If you can manage to train me, you can train anyone. I know, one day you will be greater than your goals. Thank you all, I LOVE YOU! I promise I will continue to make you proud and become everything you always said I would be.
Brenda Reynosa and all of my internship preceptors- Thank you for giving me the chance to be a dietetic intern. I hope that I make you proud along the way to becoming an RD. Without each and every single one of you, especially you Brenda, I would still be a student, just looking for an opportunity. I am so grateful for all of my learning experiences during this internship. It has not been easy by any means, but it has all most definitely been worth it. I look forward to staying in touch with all of you and seeing you in the field, newly ranked as an RD!
Brenda Fonacier- What a friend and mentor you have been! Your commitment to my success has stood out to me. You have always welcomed me (or better yet, volunteered me) to better myself by signing up to volunteer on weekends for community events or by joining the CAND-DVD board members. I am so thankful for all of the knowledge you have bestowed upon me, the countless hours you spent teaching me how to be a successful clinical dietitian, and all of the time we spent strengthening our friendship. Thank you for everything, my friend!
Nancy Bennett- For the past year and a half you have been not only a mentor but truly a friend to me. Words can never express the respect I have for you as a professional, a friend and a go-getter. You are an esteemed Registered Dietitian whose footsteps I hope to follow in the near future. Thank you for all of your kind words and taking me under your wing. Not everyone with a full-blown career will make time for a student but you did, you have set yourself apart from so many others in your work as well as your acts of kindness. Here’s to a successful career and a long and happy friendship. Thank you!
Sarah Josef, Joan Frank and all of the SFSU dietetics faculty- Thank you for all of your help over these past four years. I am so grateful for the many hours you spent making the Didactic program the success that it is today. Being a teacher, a counselor and most of all, a leader can be a very difficult task but you have far surpassed my expectations of all three. You are both strong, intelligent women who never seem to take on too many tasks and for this, you inspire me. I hope to go out in the world as an RD and spread the word of nutrition and healthy living. Thank you for all that you have done for me.
To all of the organizations and hospitals who have taken me as a volunteer, thank you for your graciousness and time. I would not be as far along in my journey as I am without you all. Thank you.
